A Midnight, Texas novel wherein our hero, Manfred, does a reading for a favorite client, who drops dead and passes through his connection to her husband. Her son accuses Manfred of stealing her jewels (which she hid). At the same time, a young man, growing amazingly fast is brought to town to be looked after by the Rev, who isn't very good at looking after, even if they are both were-tigers.
